New for 2005! The 2500 cu in Kelty Whisper weighs only 2 lb 13 oz. Designed for light and fast minimalists, the Whisper does not sacrifice the suspension system to reduce weight. Many minimalist packs reduce weight by cutting out critical suspension components. If the suspension is reduced too far in relation to the weight you're carrying, you end up with a pack that becomes uncomfortable after just a few miles on the trail. The Kelty Whisper retains a supportive suspension to stay comfortable over the long haul. The Whisper has a single aluminum stay to help transfer load to the padded, breathable waistbelt. The shoulder straps are firmly padded and feature a breathable fabric liner for cool comfort. The Whisper has load lifter straps, load stabilizers, and an adjustable position sternum strap. The Whisper is a top-loading design. The top hood has a zippered map pocket, and there's a mesh water bottle pocket on each side. There's also a front mesh shovel pouch with elastic sides for quickly stowing a jacket or wet gear. The Kelty Whisper is hydration compatible with exit ports on each side.
