New for 2005! The Kelty Journey is a great around town child carrier that can also be used comfortably for moderate length day hikes. The Journey child carrier features a removable and washable child cockpit and an auto-deploy kickstand. The Journey's suspension system has many of the same features as the premium suspension found on more expensive models. Curved and molded shoulder straps conform to your shape, and the load lifter straps allow you to adjust the weight distribution for comfortable carrying. The sternum strap prevents chafing under the arms, and has an adjustable height so you can position the strap where it is most comfortable. The waist belt is curved and double layer padded. The primary difference between the Journey's suspension and the more expensive premium suspension is the type of padding. The Journey uses a softer double layer padding, while the premium suspension has a firmer triple layer padding for heavier loads and longer trips. The Kelty Journey carrier features Kelty's torso adjustment slider for positioning the shoulder straps to adjust for different torso lengths. The adjustment is quick and simple, allowing this carrier to be used by both mom and dad with equal comfort. The removable and washable child cockpit has a 5-point harness, and lots of padding to keep the little one secure and comfortable. The Journey carrier includes a detachable Kids pack with shoulder straps, and the waistbelt has a zippered pouch with a key hook for convenience.
