CLEVELAND CG10 BLACK PEARL WEDGE -- What's the one thing that all PGA Tour members agree on? Glare hurts. It's never good to be standing over a shot and have the sun beaming off of your club, zinging you right in the eyes. To combat this, Cleveland Golf has developed an advanced surface coating process that drastically reduces blinding glare while helping the club maintain its soft feel and bend-ability. Now available on the CG10 wedges, the proprietary Black Pearl finish is and advanced multi-stage process. It starts with a hand-ground and polished Carbon Metal Matrix (CMM) CG10 clubhead. Next using a precise electroplating process, two layers of soft nickel are deposited onto the surface the clubhead is then inspected and polished to a glare-reducing satin finish. The second primary layer is electrically deposited as a thing, yet durable layer of chromium. This provides a corrosion-resistant layer to the club while highlighting the satin finish. The third and final step to this technologically advance finish is the Black Pearl micro-coating. Through and advanced coating process, microscopic particles of a proprietary compound are first vaporized and then condensed onto the clubhead. The end result of this time intensive process is a rich, glare-reducing finish with enhanced corrosion resistance and a softer feel when compared to other dark metal finishes.
