The Kelty Trail Dome 6 is a 6-person family camping tent featuring quality DAC DA17 aluminum poles and easy-to-pitch color coded clip construction. The DAC DA17 poles found on the Trail Dome 6 are lighter, stronger and longer lasting than fiberglass poles. Aluminum poles are more durable to handle heavy wind and snow loads. Unlike fiberglass, aluminum does not become brittle in cold weather. The Kelty Trail Dome 6 uses color coded clip construction that eliminates the hassle of feeding poles through the tent sleeves. Just slide the shock-corded pole sections together and attach the clips. The Trail Dome 6 is freestanding, so you can pitch the tent, then move it around on your camp site to find the optimum position (this helps eliminate someone having to sleep on top of a root or sharp rock). With Kelty's ArcEdge construction, the floor seams are lifted up off the ground to prevent water seepage around the floor/wall seams. Kelty's water tight wall technology uses a shingled seam approach on the walls and Kelty has also installed flaps over the exposed windows and doors to prevent leakage at the zippers even in high wind.
