Longer rear taper adds smoothness and control to long casts, as well as better mending properties. When presentation demands are extreme, the XXD is the line you'll want to have on hand. In close, at mid-range, or across the river, the compound head design maximizes your rods' performance. While the long front taper smooths the turnover, the longer rear taper adds smoothness to long asts, and the combination extended rear taper and thinner running line allow for extremely long, tight loops.
