Designed by William Harsey, engineered by Gerber, the Air Ranger is a performance cutlery piece at a high volume production price. The Air Ranger handle is made from aluminum. Anodized an attractive Red or Blue, the handle is also checkered like a fine gun stock. This precision CNC machined checkering provides an excellent grip when using the knife. The belt/pocket clip on the Air Ranger is removable for a slimmer profile if so desired. The handle incorporates a single liner as the lock. Made from stainless steel, the liner springs into place upon opening the blade, locking it open and ready for use. Joseph Gerber began making blades in 1939 in Portland, Oregon. The company began by making kitchen cutlery and became known as one of the finest manufacturers in the United States. In 1958, they started to experiment with the manufacturing of sport knives. He began to market the highest quality hunting, fishing, and pocket knife money could buy. Gerber is known as the innovative industry leader.
