The Mountainsmith Chimera Women's internal frame backpack is perfect for gear-intensive or extended backcountry trips. This lightweight 3600 cu. in. pack has a trim design, and with a premium Mountainsmith suspension it's very comfortable to carry. Many lightweight packs sacrifice durability, comfort, and load carrying capability to achieve lighter weights. Not so with the Mountainsmith Chimera. On the Chimera, Mountainsmith reduces weight by incorporating advanced materials and design. These materials might cost a little more, but the result is a lightweight pack that is both durable and comfortable. The Chimera incorporates Mountainsmith's award winning Mountainlight suspension system with these great features: Custom fit waistbelt with 1/2" closed-cell EVA foam wrapped in a woven moisture wicking stretch fabric against the body. This design provides firm load support that stays comfortable against the body even after a long hot day on the trail.; One piece integrated and dual-density foam lumbar pad; Breathable Brock foam shoulder straps are independently adjustable left and right for hikers that require an asymmetrical fit; Adjustable position sternum strap allows comfortable adjustment of the shoulder strap position; Twin 6061-T6 aluminum corrugated stays for lighter weight; Spinal chimney ventilation with a woven stretch fabric keeps contact away from spine, and allows cooling air to circulate; Torso shield frame sheet provides additional support and keeps your gear from poking you in the back ; Women's suspension includes a contoured waistbelt, narrower cut shoulder straps, and a shorter torso length; The Chimera features waterproof YKK urethane-coated zippers, a quick store bungie, and a custom fit top hood with a pocket and inner zippered valuables pocket.
