Ken Griffey Jr. began the 2004 MLB season with 481 career home runs. As the fastest player in baseball history to reach both the 350 and 400 career home run plateaus, Griffey has always impressed onlookers with his power. On June 21, 2004, the 34-year-old Griffey became just the 20th major leaguer in history (and the sixth fastest) to reach the coveted 500 Career Home Run total. Junior accomplished the feat on Father's Day in St. Louis by driving a sixth-inning, 2-2 offering from Cardinals' starter Matt Morris into the upper deck in right field at Busch Stadium. The Upper Deck Company salutes Junior's remarkable achievement by way of this special 5'' x 7'' Commemorative Card which captures the record-breaking swing.
