The club was formed in 1911, and in a few short years later finished second in the 1st Division. The club currently plays in the Italian Serie A - where they have played 32 Seasons. In 1944, finished 3rd and in 1946 finished 4th in Serie A! Brescia Calcio won their first Anglo Italian Cup in 1994 defeating Notts County. The former Spanish captain Josep Guardiola spent time in the Brescian ranks. Brescia came to the soccer forefront in 2000 when the club signed former FIFA World Player of the Year Roberto Baggio. Baggio spent four years at Brescia before retiring in 2004. Baggio scored 43 goals in 95 matches. In the 2000/2001 season, the Rondinell finished 7th in Serie A - their best finish since 1946! Not only that, they have been a fixture in the Italian top flight ever since.
