The Kelty Crestone 2 is a simple, lightweight 2-person tent for the weight conscious backpacker. A great feature of the Kelty Crestone 2 is its 2 doors and 2 matching vestibules. With this design, each occupant has there own entrance and exit, as well as their own place to stow gear. With the Crestone 2, there's no climbing over each other when nature calls in the middle of the night. The Crestone 2 weighs in at only 4-3/4 lb. fully packaged weight and less than 4-1/4 lb. minimum weight. That's an incredibly light weight for a tent featuring 2 doors and 2 vestibules. The Crestone 2 tent is very well ventilated to prevent condensation build up on the inside of the tent. The side wall vents, mesh ceiling and fly vents provide great air flow through the tent. After a hard day on the trail, you'll appreciate the Crestone 2's color coded clip construction, which makes this tent a cinch to set up, even in limited light or foul weather. The Kelty Crestone 2 comes with DAC Featherlite poles. DAC Featherlite poles are computer designed and tested, and specifically engineered for use in lightweight tents. The Arcedge construction lifts the floor seams up off the ground, eliminating these seams as a potential source of leaks. The only complaint we have with the Crestone 2 is its size. There's not a lot of room inside for two hikers. The Crestone 2 is a good choice for the hiker that usually goes solo, but sometimes needs room for two. It's light enough to use as a solo tent, and the extra space is there for another person if you need it. The Crestone is not a free-standing tent. This means that the tent must be staked at both ends before it will stand up. This is usually only a problem on terrain where stakes won't hold such as: rocks, loose sand or on top of deep snow. Even in these situations, the ends of the tent can often be tied off to a tree or other large object.
