The Orb is the gold standard in the Summit Series � Kelty's most durable and technologically forward tents � with five DAC Pressfit Poles creating a lightweight skeleton strong enough to withstand the harshest conditions. The Orb's four-season framework utilizes wind-tunnel tested Webforce� tendons and Kelty's unique X-technology. Storm-proofing continues with closable windows, polyester ripstop construction of the rainfly and interior walls, a nylon taffeta tent floor, and Arcedge construction to keep you dry by keeping seams off the ground.
Webforce
The "trusses" at each pole sleeve intersection guide the pole through the intersection, easing set up, and eliminating any independent movement of the poles, strengthening the structure. The "tendons" on the fly, which lock stakeout points to FlyBoys, prevent any stretch or movement under even the heaviest winds.
FlyBoy
A patch permanently affixed to the fly and a plastic clip that clamps the body, poles, and fly together into a single, unitized self-reinforcing structure. Flyboy also accepts guylines to create a stronger and more stable structure.
Arcedge
Tent floor/side seams that have been catenary cut and sewn with bias binding on the inside of the tent. Lifts floor construction seams off the ground to prevent water leakage.
Pressfit Poles DAC Pressfit poles are used in all Kelty tents where strength is more critical than weight.
