The Midland 79-290 represents the latest cutting-edge technology in the mobile communications field. From its high-tech detachable control panel to its finned cast-aluminum transmitter heat sink, the 79-290 incorporates features found on no other CB unit. Additional features include full-surface mounting technology, a fiberglass-printed circuit board, a dual power output stage, and a digital information screen using a black matrix LCD. All the functions are controlled by the microprocessor for increased function and reliability. Features include:
- 120-channel operation with 40 AM, 40 USB, and 40 LSB channels
- Built-in 10-channel weather monitor receives all U.S. and Canadian channels
- Black matrix LCD display with choice of channel number of frequency readout
