Country: Argentina The Official 2005 Arsenal de Sarandi Home Soccer Jersey. Arsenal of Sarandi Have Worked Hard to Make Their Soccer Dream Come True. It was in Sarandi, Argentina, on January 11th, 1957, that a group of young men met at a bar, and with the illusion of all beginnings, founded the Arsenal Football Club. The majority of them were fans of Independiente and Racing Club; therefore, they chose the red and sky blue for the club's jersey and badge. The team name was inspired by the success of the English team of the same name. In 1964, Arsenal won the Division C championship-with 25 wins, 6 ties and 3 losses, a total of 56 points, and outscored opponents 96 to 20! The 'viaduct' was the highest scoring team that season, and had their best game against Brown of Adrogue, whom they squashed 9 to 0. Despite a few sub par seasons, they fought for twenty years to remain in the B Division. In 1992 Arsenal rose from a quiet period to ascend back to Division B by defeating Alvarado de Mar de Plata. On May 18th, 2002, after 45 years in existence, the club finally reached made its dream come true: ascended to First Division! In 2004, Arsenal made it all the way to the quarterfinals of the Copa Sudamericana!
