Operating on two channels at up to 4 miles outdoors and covering up to 200,000 square feet indoors, Motorola provides you with the means to take advantage of the new family radio service (FRS) band. It operates on UHF business frequencies, allowing you to communicate with separate groups on separate channels. The device is ideal for use when you're running errands and enjoying outdoor activities, and it lets you talk to anyone for free.As with a party line, other FRS users can overhear your conversations while operating on the same combination of channel and privacy code, but the GT Plus's 38 privacy codes do help block out unwanted channel interference. Attractively finished in silver and sturdily designed to absorb minor impacts, the Motorola Spirit GT Plus also features four selectable alert signals to notify you of incoming calls, and advanced voice activation for hands-free operation. It's powered by a rechargeable NiMH battery that holds up to 9 hours of standby battery life between charges. A carry holster is also included.
