This barrel system has a slight curve in that causes a backspin when you shoot the paintball. The back spin actually causes a curve in an upward direction. When the curve up and gravity pull down are combined, the result is a long flat line. I tested this barrel at the Zap Am Open and I was very impressed. It does take a little practice to get used to. You can also tilt the gun and shoot curve balls to get people behind bunkers. Also works with 98 Custom.
