After achieving superstar status playing for John Wooden's UCLA Bruins in the '70s and winning three straight College Player of the Year awards, Bill Walton was destined to become an NBA legend. As the NBA's No. 1 draft pick of the Portland Trail Blazers in 1974, he went on to lead the team to its only NBA title (1976-77), helping spark Blazermania. After helping defeat Philadelphia in the NBA Finals, the big redhead was named Finals MVP. Walton eventually won another championship, this time with the Boston Celtics in 1996. To Portland fans, however, he was always a Blazer, and in the team's 20th anniversary season (1989), his signature No. 32 jersey was retired. He was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1993, and in 1996 was named one of the NBA's 50 Greatest Players.
