Once the ball collides with the strings of the Pro Kennex Core 1 Number 6 racquet, the frame, consisting of two independent cylinders, responds. Upon impact one cylinder reacts and flexes creating a vibration pattern. At the same time the other cylinder reacts and flexes creating an opposite vibration pattern. A wood core spine, which links the two cylinders, allows these opposing vibrations to collide, which neutralizes the shock. Wood is a natural filter of vibrations. While managing the collision to reduce shock it also shapes the vibrations into solid informaton to the player during the shot.
