About BIKE Athletic Company
In 1874, BIKE Athletic Company began operations as the BIKE Web Company and originated the athletic supporter. Designed to provide support for the bicycle jockeys riding the cobblestone streets of Boston, the athletic supporter quickly became known as the "BIKE jockey strap." Eventually the name was shortened to simply the "jock strap" and, BIKE has now sold well over 300 million of them. BIKE's history, and its present success, has been built on their dedication to the world of athletes through product innovation. Since creating that first jock strap in 1874, BIKE has been the product innovator behind several other key athletic products.
