The Motorola Talkabout FV500R GMRS/FRS Two-way Radios are inexpensive to operate and have up to an five-mile broadcast range. Offering the options to talk on both FRS (Family Radio Service) and GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service), the FV500R is the perfect way for friends and family to keep in contact during outdoor adventures. With 22 channels and 121 interference codes, you'll be sure to stay connected wherever you are. Power is automatically stepped down to a half-watt across FRS-only channels (two-mile range), enabling the FV500R to talk to all existing FRS two-way radios. Voice activation lets you talk hands-free when used with or without optional accessories, and 10 audible call tones grab the attention of your family and friends before you start speaking, with a talk-confirmation tone signals once you've finished talking. A keypad lock prevents your personalized settings from being inadvertently changed, and an audible tone and visual display alerts you when batteries are running down. For use in hushed or noisy places, the radio's VibraCall feature vibrates to alert you when someone is calling.
