After several years of research Oust has developed a hybrid skate bearing named the MOC SERIES. These bearings meet all the critical factors for hockey. Unlike the common 608 bearings that are presently being used in the hockey industry which only require a radial (vertical) load roll-out, OUST has designed a hybrid bearing which excels in all types of loading situations including: Static, Dynamic and Impact loads as well as bearing misalignment caused by torque. These are side loads associated with turning, powerslides and take-offs. The OUST MOC Series bearings are the FIRST and only bearing manufactured for hockey that achieve a matched coefficient of friction between radial load roll-out and torsional load roll out. This means that they roll equally well under side loading conditions as they do under non-loaded conditions. The MOC 5 bearing has the same structural design as the 7 and the 9. The difference is that the 5 utilizes less expensive components such as cages, seals and balls. The Oust bearings are absolutely awesome. For 40 bucks - you can't find better bearings than this. The spin is AT LEAST as good as most ABEC 7 bearings you will find. You can tell the difference immediately upon stepping onto the rink. They just feel quicker - especially in starts and in turns. These bearings carry their speed through a turn amazingly well. For an excellent bearing with a lot of speed and durability, the Oust MOC 5 is an excellent choice.
