The HiPPO XXL utility woods utilize the same weight distribution design as the XXL driver and fairway woods, giving golfers of all skill levels increased power and playability. The XXL utility woods provide the benefits of both irons and woods in unique club that offers golfers the accuracy of an iron with the distance of a fairway wood. The use of high-grade steel allows additional weight to be centered in the back of the utility wood to provide a deeper and lower center of gravity. This creates an optimum launch angle for greater distance. The weight that's placed low and deep in the clubhead provides maximum forgiveness, and can even reduce the loss of distance on off-center shots. The HiPPO golf brand was born out of Howson Sports, a UK based sports equipment manufacturer in 1989. It has grown rapidly to become the largest European-based brand in the golf industry. The original objective was to create a unique wood head design that would provide superior performance at excellent value to the golfer. A team of UK based professionals, including PGA European Tour Director and player DJ Russell, was recruited to thoroughly test prototypes. After a considerable length of time, a wood head was found that showed significantly improved results from all other prototypes and clubs from would-be competitors at the time. From the development of the original wood, HiPPO has continued to push the boundaries of technology with product development teams based both in the UK and US headquarters working continually on new ideas.
