Soft Kraton rubber is molded around and through a Zytel frame, forming a one-piece handle that is more durable than a metal knife handle, yet soft and comfortable to grip, even when wet. And, Gerber uses pivot pins and fasteners that are precision machined rather than wire extruded, which helps make for a much tougher, longer lasting knife. Now that you'll be able to hang on to your knife - THAT becomes very important. The Gator-Mate has a 2.75-inch blade length that opens to 6.875 inches, and includes a ballistic sheath.
