Superbly designed for summer overnight trips or hauling loads up to a big base camp, the Deuter Aircontact 50 + 10 SL is an alpine workhorse built for rugged environments and high expectations. Intended for heavy use, the Aircontact suspension in the Aircontact 50 + 10 SL works the same way as the lighter-framed Deuter Aircomfort backpanel, but it features a lightweight aluminum X frame suspension and a special breathable hollow padding camber along the lumbar area that acts as a pump to cycle air through the backpanel every time you step or shift your weight. This pump effect draws cool outside air down from the top of the pack while expelling warmer air trapped between your back and the padded backpanel. This Aircontact 50 + 10 SL also features a Vari-Quick SLim Fit (SL) with shorter proportions to ergonomically fit hikers up to five feet, six inches in height much better than traditional pack designs. The bilaminate hip fins and shoulder straps are better suited for this size range and fit quickly without extra adjustments or customizations. You can interchange the Vari-Quick SLim Fit harness with most regular Deuter backpacks and child carriers without sizing issues, giving you the right fit for a range of local and distant adventures.
