Two of the most requested and eagerly awaited fillet knives, the 4 inch Gator® Fillet and 9 inch Gator® Fillet, are now a reality. Combining the best features of the Gator® handle, and the best attributes of a fixed blade fillet, these new Gators® set the industry standard for design, performance, and comfort in a fixed blade fillet knife.Fixed Blade Gator® Fillets feature patented handles which set them apart from the competition. Gerber revolutionized knife grip technology when it introduced the Gator® in 1991, winning Blade Magazines Most Innovative Knife of the Year® award. The Fixed Blade Gator® Fillet series of fillet knives have handles made of a hard inner core of glass filled polypropylene, with Santoprene® rubber molded and chemically bonded around it, essentially combining the two materials into one piece. This creates a handle that is soft and tacky when gripped, even when wet. This handle is lightweight, yet is exceptionally durable. This patented handle technology is now available in a fixed blade fillet knife.An innovative sheath is also included with the Fixed Blade Gator® Fillets. This sheath is made of molded plastic and has a built-in ceramic sharpener in the tip. The fillet knife snaps into the sheath snuggly. The plastic belt loop is molded to the top of the sheath, allowing the sheath to be worn on the belt.
