Ideally suited for hiking, biking, skiing, climbing, snowboarding and anything else that involves changing altitude in changing conditions, the Suunto Vector is an alpine-oriented chronograph equipped with an altimeter, barometer, thermometer and compass. The altimeter has a memory that calculates ascents and descents ranging from the top of Everest to neck-deep in the Dead Sea right down to five-meter increments. Even if you never attain those extreme highs and lows, you can tally other important features like the number of runs skied at the end of the day. A combined barometer and thermometer help you forecast and anticipate changing weather conditions far beyond the range of portable weather radios. This is accomplished through an automatic record system that notes changes over a four-day period. The compass function offers quality features like a bubble level, declination adjustment function and cardinal/half cardinal points that set the Vector apart from watches that tout mediocre direction-finding functions. When leveled, the compass provides bearings that are accurate to three degrees, which should keep you headed in the right direction.
