The Holmenkollen sweater is named after the famous Norwegian national ski jump arena in Oslo. Holmenkollen is a place to go on beautiful winter Sundays to watch ski jump competitions. At this arena you often dress in traditional Norwegian ski sweaters as King Olav V did when he took the trolley to Holmenkollen during the oil strike. In old black-and-white photos one can see former king in a nostalgic sweater, smiling and being friendly to the people around him. The inspiration for the Holmenkollen design is from beloved King Olav V's sweater, which includes nostalgic, crisp eight leaf roses and solid stripes, typical for the 1950's.
