No more squinting at a column of mercury to learn whether it's a jacket day or a shorts day. This two-unit, remote thermometer accurately displays the indoor temperature (inside a house symbol), as well as the outdoor temperature in larger digital numbers. Simply place the remote sensor unit outside, whether on a porch table or mounted on the side of the house, and keep the main receiver unit on a desk or wall. Or, place the sensor in the baby's room or wine cellar, where every degree counts. A 32-yard (30-meter) transmission range is possible between the two units, and the sensor sends data to the receiver every 30 seconds. Operating at a transmission frequency of 433 MHz, the thermometer is usable in many countries overseas. The display shows temperatures to a tenth of a degree, in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. Three channels let the main unit support up to three sensors. Each unit requires two AA batteries for operation (not included). The indoor unit measures 3-1/4 by 2-7/8 by 1-1/4 inches, and the outdoor sensor measures 4 by 2-3/4 by 7/8 inches. This thermometer is covered by a 90-day warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri
