Ah, the wonderful invention that is the weekend. The Jansport Purist Backpack lives for weekend backcountry trips, so the two of you should have a lot to talk about. The Purist is a beefy weekend pack for winter or summer use that uses Jansport's efficient Direct Connect suspension. A top-loader with separate sleeping bag compartment, the Purist can be extended for an extra 400cu in of storage in case you're in overload mode. Your standard gear attachment points are all here, daisy chains and gear loops and the like, as well as a rad compressor panel. The Compressor panel acts as a load-control adjustment, but is reinforced to hold skis, boards, shovels, and pretty much anything else you see fit to jam into it. The panel is open on all four sides so you can carry planks in whichever orientation works best for you. No matter what gear your weekend dictates, you'll be able to lash it onto or stuff it into the Purist.
