The Kelty Jr. Tioga is an external frame backpack designed for young hikers 5-13 years old. The simple external frame design is comfortable for youngsters. The Junior Tioga has many of the same features as Kelty's adult Tioga packs. The adjustable suspension features a padded waist belt and padded shoulder straps. There's a sternum strap that allows the wearer to fine tune the position of the shoulder straps across the chest to prevent chaffing under the arms and on the shoulders. Young hikers often find that fine repositioning of the shoulder straps provides an extra measure of comfort on long hikes. On the trail, you don't want to be constantly digging through your pack to find a piece of gear. The Junior Tioga's zippered pockets and top access panel provide good organization and allow easy access to critical gear. The Jr. Tioga's hold open bar holds the top of the pack bag open for easier gear loading.
